It's been a while....

Whoa....1 month not update my blog.
Damn, pretty busy recently...
But at least now, I can update it now ;)

So much has happen in this month. The most distinguished event in this month is fuel price rise by the government. This event spurs several demonstration on the street, but luckily the mass not ran amok this time (maybe haven't :-S)..

Our government decided to rise the subsidized fuel price by 28.7% the day before yesterday. This is not a popular policy and will take more burden on people in Indonesia. While the poorest can stand still because they will receive donation cash from the government, the medium welfare society will suffer most. Why, because we as workers are being paid flat every month. And our salary rise, which just happened last month, is not even close to the fuel price rise.

Then the conclusion is, we will have to lower our standard of living to cut cost. Otherwise we will have none for saving. It's really hard pill to swallow! And as survey says that after 40 years of working hard :

• only 1% will be live in prosperity
• 4% will safe for enjoying standard living with their saving money
• 5% still have to work to earn small amount of money for keep living
• 54% will live under poverty by depending to pension money or their relatives
• 36% have already dead

So under those numbers, we can easily see that to be able to enjoy standard living or more in our dusk age is really hard (only 5% from population). Therefore we must be really wise of spending money at our pruductive time, especially me, who have to take care of my parents as their only son ;)...

Struggle for living is seemed a job never end in Indonesia. Only small amount of people in Indonesia can enjoy the "cake". The others can only dream...what will happen if someday blablabla...

Just like me who can only dream of having a mainstream desktop pc. Still keep on dreaming and believing that someday my dream will come true....:)

Cheapest Internet Service Provider in Indonesia

If you're an internet maniac who loves to surf for hours and you don't have so much money to subscribe to any service provider for using their services, then you're lucky now. Because now, there is fastnet from firstmedia company which offers you a very interesting products. As you can see from the images above, fastnet offers maybe the cheapest unlimited internet packages.

Well, I used to work for Internet Service Provider for two years, so I can tell you whether the price for their services is cheap or not. And fastnet is incrediblely cheap (in Indonesia). But how about the performance? Is it as good as they claim? From what I read in many forums, in the earlier month, the services are very good, near what they have claimed. But after many people subscribe for their services, then the speed plummets.

It's usually happened in every service provider in Indonesia as the bandwidth is shared among all customers. Maybe we must wait for years before the internet in Indonesia is as cheap as in Singapore or Malaysia...;)

Junk food...again!

It's nice knowing that we are back at our hometown ^_^
So lucky that the meeting this time is held in Bandung city, my hometown...
Everything is running smoothly in the beginning..
It's just when the dinner time came, all of my colleagues didn't contact me for asking me to go out with them :(..
I'm so disappointed with them :(
But anyway, after waiting for so long in our hotel room, I and my roommate then decided to go for dinner by ourselves..
The nearest place we could find is Wendy's...

It's been a while eating Wendy's fried chicken. Hmm, honestly for me, it's been years :P..
It's not because I'm so poor that I cannot afford to buy it, but I think that my mom's cook is a lot better than any junk food I can find in the world :P...
And of course, it's better to save every pennys I got since yeah you know...as I always say...the salary in Indonesia is terrible!
I admit than I'm luckier than the others since there are many Indonesian guys who are paid much lower than me now...

Looking back to three years ago, when I searched for a job for a first time.
Do you know how much I was paid for being a system engineer here?
Only $110/month...Damn, it was so lower that I lost my proud of being a technical guy....

Prometric is not available in Indonesia anymore?

Today, I wanted to search some exams for IT Professional Certifications that are available in Prometric testing center.

Prometric is famous as testing place for many IT Certification.

I opened prometric website which is located in http://www.prometric.com/default.htm.

Then I chose test type from the pulldown menus provided there for test takers.

And a moment later, the page was change to a particular test type that I chose previously.
Then I click button for locate testing center...

In the new page shown there is pulldown menus for selecting country where you're reside.
In about a second, I realize that my country is not in the list of country that can be selected...

Hey, what does happen here? Is Indonesia blacklisted as prometric testing center now? Very funny :P
